چکیده

Raman scattering provides significant information on the nature of the magnetic excitations of diluted magnetic semiconductors (DMS). Transitions involving an exchange of a quantum of angular momentum between the system and the radiation field result in Raman lines with shifts equal to the energy of the magnetic excitations in which the total spin of the crystal changes by fi. Such transitions have a one-to-one correspondence with those seen in magnetic resonance but observed in the optical rather than in the microwave region of the electromagnetic spectrum. In the Mn-based Il-VT DMS a variety of magnetic excitations have been observed in their Raman spectra. Microscopic models underlying these phenomena provide powerful insights into the nature of the magnetism of DMS.

Scattering mechanism of nonmagnetic phase on nano diluted magnetic semiconductors (DMS)

This paper shows the scattering mechanism at diluted magneticsemiconductors. The doped magnetic atom produces a scattering potential due to becoupled of itinerant carrier spin of host material with magnetic momentum of the dopedmagnetic atom. Formulas of scattering event were rewritten by the plane waveexpansion and then the electron mobility of DMS was calculated. Calculations showKondo effect...

Magnetic-Polaron-Induced Enhancement of Surface Raman Scattering

The studies of the effects of magnetic field on surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) have been so far limited to the case of ferromagnetic/noble-metal, core/shell nano-particles, where the influence was always found to be negative. In this work, we investigate the influence of magnetic field on a diluted magnetic semiconductor/metal SERS system. Guided by three dimensional finite-difference...

Dielectric function of diluted magnetic semiconductors in the infrared regime

We present a study of the dielectric function of metallic (III,Mn)V diluted magnetic semiconductors in the infrared regime. Our theoretical approach is based on the kinetic exchange model for carrier induced (III,Mn)V ferromagnetism. The dielectric function is calculated within the random phase approximation and, within this metallic regime, we treat disorder effects perturbatively and thermal ...

Magnetically aligned single wall carbon nanotube films: preferred orientation and anisotropic transport properties

Thick films of single wall carbon nanotubes ~SWNT! exhibiting in-plane preferred orientation have been produced by filter deposition from suspension in strong magnetic fields. We characterize the field-induced alignment with x-ray fiber diagrams and polarized Raman scattering, using a model which includes a completely unaligned fraction. We correlate the texture parameters with resistivity and ...

Study of the thermal behavior of syndiotactic and atactic polystyrene by Raman spectroscopy

The glass properties and semi crystalline properties of polymers are observable by X-ray diffraction. Some previous works 1, 2, 3 were about determination of degree of crystallinity of sPS by various technologies, like for example DSC, XRD and Raman spectroscopy. The purpose of this paper is to show importance of Raman spectroscopy as analytical tool for the study of amorphous and semi-crystall...
